#71 - Productivity 101 - Create Public Accountability

It is difficult to maintain accountability during initial days. Such times, it’s better to seek help from public. One way is to go public about your new habit and maintain a daily public log about it. This way, you become publicly accountable.

Another way is to start a new habit with your friends. Spirit of corps that exists between a group of people binds them together. Because of this, each friend will hold others mutually accountable and the likelihood of success increases multifold.

I have tried the second way, where three of us committed to hit the gym every day. If one of us felt lazy, the rest of us would push the group to stick to plan. This really helped us to create and sustain a new habit. It might not have been possible for each one of the group to have hit the gym regularly had we decided to do it alone.
